Another year, another summer. Last year’s Summer was one where I went a lot of places and did a lot of new things, this year however everything was different. Good. But different.
It started with an amazing trip to Morocco with my friends. Read about it here and here. A few days after that I went to Dublin again to visit my sister. The last time in fact, as I’m writing this I’m sitting on a train to Frankfurt to visit her there..
We went to the Hill of Tara, and shot these pictures. The view was pretty and that’s the only thing that can be said about it to be honest.
Most of our time together, we just talked about all kinds of things. Both our lives were about to undergo a big change and we needed some time of just being together. While I was there I also read a few books that changed my mindset entirely. This year was a very intense one and I got to realise a lot of stuff. I’ll do a different post on the books, since I have a lot to say about them and I’m sure some of you might find them useful as well.
The rest of the Summer was casual and chilled. A lot happened and it took a big toll on my mental health but this time for the better. I was faced with challenges that I finally overcame. And it feels amazing now to know that I didn’t run away from the issues and have been strong enough.
Close to my home there’s a beautiful forest where I went hiking while I was home alone and it was pure nurture for my soul.
The rest of the Summer I was preparing for my study in Germany. It was scary and exciting. It’s funny to look back and remember how I had absolutely no idea what would happen or how it would be and now I’m here and have all these memories already. Life can go every direction but you’re always exactly where you need to be.
Just being by myself and enjoying the silence was all I needed to heal and feel whole again.
But obviously some friends and good food help too. I made this platter and it was so much fun and really easy! Looking back on this makes me hungry again..
I’m so ready for what’s to come and can’t wait to make more life related posts. ‘Cause I got a lot to say..
