Definitely a highlight of this trip was visiting the Cinque Terre. This Summer while scrolling on my Pinterest feed, I saw a picture of one of the villages located in Cinque Terre. I thought it was gorgeous and searched what place it was. And.. I found out it was very close to Verona. In fact then I got the idea of doing a roadtrip – or a train trip really. However it seemed that a lot of people found this gem too, since my Instagram this Summer was flooded with bloggers taking perfect snaps with the coloured houses.
Here we didn’t stay at an Airbnb but in a hotel. Well, more like separated houses. It wasn’t great luxury but it was everything we needed. We stayed just outside of the Cinque Terre, between Bonassola and Levanto. It was so quiet and relaxed there, which was the opposite of the crowded popular villages. We stayed around three days and one afternoon we decided to go to the villages. With a special trainticket you can travel between them. Thanks to my Instagram feed, we chose Vernazza and Manarola. I do have to say they are really beautiful. But it’s funny how you can alter a picture so far from reality. Like the picture below, where we were almost queuing to stand in this location and afterwards quickly walked away from all the crowds.
