Ever since Instagram introduced the stories feature, I haven’t shared everyday personal content on here. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I instantly could share all the pictures that never made it to the insta feed. But since it’s summer and I’m doing a lot of things and going a lot of places – thanks to passing all my exams! CAN I GET AN AMEN – I want to have all the shots combined in one place. So I will be sharing a round-up of my favourite photos of the summer so far. Most of these you will already have seen if you follow me on Instagram – hence the article’s name.. – but I’ll be giving a bit of explanation and tips and maybe rant a little too. So definitely worth the read ;)
The picture above was taking at the Blaarmeersen in Ghent. My friend and I picnicked, chatted and dipped our toes in the water.
Summer vacation started off with brunch with my mother at Cafematic in Antwerp. We had a long and deep talk and it was perfect.
Then we went to The Hague to see an exhibition of Mondrian. It was really interesting and we had dumplings for dinner.
My mom, aunt and I visited Rotterdam for a day to do some sale shopping. We obviously had lunch at the foodhall. We bought some salted caramel peanut butter and it’s the best thing ever.
Then it was time to leave for Dublin for two weeks. The last time I went was in April and I have to be honest, I was a bit scared I wouldn’t enjoy it anymore. I mean of course the best part is being with my sister and we literally always have fun, but it’s always nice to go on some little adventures together. And I have never appreciated it as much as I did now. Maybe it’s the fact that I wasn’t so stressed or that I’m just in a really good place mentally again but I had such a nice time. We also visited some places even my sister hadn’t visited yet. You can read about Galway here. I think I maybe should do a seperate post on Dublin. I don’t think I have ever done a city guide or something and I feel like I know the city enough now to give some valuable tips.
Some of the places I had never been to were: the Kilhamain Jail and St-Stephen’s Parc.
We also for the first time went on a tour bus. Normally I’m not the biggest fan of them because you literally have tourist written on your face – I don’t even know anymore why that is a bad thing though – but you pay 15€ for 24h and you can get off whenever you want. We stayed on and then it takes 2 hours. It’s perfect to see the entire city and it’s so relaxed. We were also lucky, because it was a beautiful actual hot day and I didn’t want to be anywhere else.
It obviously wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Two Boys Brew. They had something new on the menu and oh my god it was so good. Like actual hummus brunch heaven.
We also spend a day in Galway, you can read all about that here.
I also needed to share this gorgeous picture I took around 6am at the airport.
Summer is going great so far.. I’ll be sharing more soon.
